The Chillicothe Public Library is committed to providing essential library services while keeping the health and safety of our patrons and staff at the forefront of our minds. We are actively monitoring the latest CDC recommendations and working to ensure that guidelines are being followed.

The COVID-19 Community Levels are provided by the CDC and give us guidelines based on new COVID-19 Cases and hospitalization data. Community Levels can be classified as low, medium, or high depending on the criteria.

What does this mean for the library?

At the time of this post, Peoria County is currently at level medium.

  • Masks are recommended for general library use.
  • Masks are required during indoor programs and in the Public Meeting Room for anyone over the age of two, regardless of vaccination status.

Once Peoria County moves to low, we will remove the mask requirement for indoor programs.
