Monetary donations can be made via check, payable to the Illinois Library Association with Chillicothe Public Library District noted. Information on sending a check can be found at ila.org/initiatives/fund-for-illinois-libraries.

Book Donations

Donations are appreciated and can help the library in many ways. Due to space limitations, we are unable to accept everything. To make the donation process easy, we are providing these guidelines for you to consider.

We cannot accept the following:

• Textbooks
• Encyclopedias
• Reader’s Digest Condensed Books
• VHS Videos
• Magazines
• Paperback books more than 3-years old
• Materials that are water damaged, smell like smoke or animals, or contain mold/mildew

Materials that are accepted will be evaluated for our collections and those that are not needed will become part of our book sale. Items not sold may be recycled.
