Improvement is a constant goal here at the Chillicothe Library.

Our Staff and Board work very hard to ensure that the Library remains helpful to our community and  a valuable resource to all during tough economic times. One way of doing this is working to reduce the Library’s strain on our environment.

That's why, beginning October 1st We will no longer be sending out Overdue Material Notices in the mail.

So what does this mean for Library patrons and our community?

We ask that our patrons help by being more conscious of the materials they have checked out, and making sure to return all items on time, or contact us to renew items.

At every checkout, Library staff gives out a small slip listing the items checked out and their return dates. We would like to urge our patrons to hold on to this slip as a way of keeping track of their items. But when in doubt, please contact the library and we will be glad to let you know what you have out and when it is due. We’ll even renew it for you there on the phone.

Options are still available to be notified of overdue items.

By adding an email address to your Library Card Account you can receive Overdue Material Notices to your email.

We are also able to send text message notifications when items are almost due, and overdue.
