December 18th, 2008 Minutes

The regular meeting of the Chillicothe Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order at 5:35 p.m. on December 18, 2008 at the Library. Present were: Martha Canopy, President; Jane Harrison, Vice President; Stephanie Turner, Treasurer; Pat Parr, Trustee; Patty Audo, Trustee, Wed Turner, Trustee and Susan Drissi, Library Director. Absent was Nona Kelley, Secretary.

There was no flag, therefore there was no pledge of allegiance.

Communications

·         There was nothing in the box.

·         The draft audit has been received for review and will be placed in the drawer with our folders.

·         A packet has been received from the city attorney regarding TIF funding and a meeting to be held January 12, 2009 at 6 P.M. at City Hall.

Reports

The minutes of the regular meeting of November 17, 2008 were approved as corrected.  Pat Parr was not present as reported.

Stephanie Turner, reviewed activity on the accounts.  A motion was made by Wed Turner to pay the bills. The motion was seconded by Jane Harrison and approved unanimously.

Susan Drissi reported that Chris Sloan has been hired to replace Dylan Gross.  Chris will shadow Dylan on December 22 and 27 to become familiar with his duties.

New Business

·         A motion was made by Pat Parr to adopt the 2009 calendar as presented.  The motion was seconded by Patty Audo and approved unanimously.

·         Stephanie Turner offered her resignation effective at the end of tonight’s meeting since she no longer resides in the district.  A motion was made by Pat Parr to accept Stephanie’s resignation.  The motion was seconded by Jane Harrison and approved unanimously.

·         Jane Harrison moved that Patty Audo be elected Treasurer of the library district board of trustees.  Stephanie Turner seconded the motion and it was approved unanimously.

·         The Board needs to appoint someone to fill Stephanie’s place until the Spring election.  There will be 4 full term and 1 partial term seats to fill.

·         Susan reported that Omnilec came in to set up the change of services.  Due to the change, there was a glitch in the wireless connection.  Traig from Ziegler Services, stated that this was a good time to set up the SonicWall.  We were going to do so in the spring, but the change in services and the approximately $475 savings made this a better time.  The board agreed.

Stephanie Turner moved to adjourn at 6:17 p.m. The motion was seconded by Wed Turner and passed unanimously.
