Director's Message
"I Love a Parade" is the theme for the annual Claude Ellen Days parade on Saturday, May 31 at 2:00 pm. Chilli Bear, the library's mascot, will be in attendance and giving away treats to the crowd. Support the community and its happenings!! I hope to see you downtown on the parade route.
Congratulations and great work to those staff and community members involved in the Community Book publication. The hard work resulted in something to be proud of. Just one more reason that Chillicothe is a great place to live and work.
Look for these familiar businesses partnering with your library to let the community know what is available in our hometown. Presently, EJ Herron is using the display case. There's rocks and hard hats and trucks . . . the patrons, especially the kids, love to look at it. That's good for business. Businesses using the lobby display case will include South Side Bank, Chillicothe Independent, Chillicothe Times Bulletin, Chillicothe Historical Society, Sierra Club, City of Chillicothe/Office of Economic Development, Happy Thought Cafe, Picket Fence, and Pearce Community Center. CPLD is pleased to be working with these fine and supportive businesses.
Word has spread via printed, ciber and vocal means, that a new Director is doing business at your library. I appreciate the many "many well wishes and good lucks" that I have received since the news got out. I will be depending on everyone to make sure that I do the job right.
Spring has finally sprung, although if you had asked me on Mother's Day I would have had a totally different outlook. Don't forget, the library has extended hours to fit your busy spring game, gardening and exercise schedule.
Looking forward to seeing you!
